Six Sentence Sunday - Where There's Smoke

It's that time again. Time for more Six Sentence Sunday ...

This week, from L. A. Witt, another nibble of Where There's Smoke, my current work-in-progress. We go live to Anthony Hunter, who is managing Jesse's campaign for the upcoming gubernatorial election, and he's in the middle of briefing Jesse (and his retired senator uncle Roger) on their campaign strategies:

I looked at Jesse. “If you have anything in your past he might dig up, I don’t care if it’s a speeding ticket when you were sixteen or a joint that was smoked while you were in the same room when you were in college, now is the time to tell me. You won’t like me if I get blindsided by something that Casey can use against you.”

Roger and Jesse exchanged a brief look that turned my stomach. Oh, God. What are you hiding, Jesse?

Want to play along? It’s fun and easy!
1. pick a project – a current WIP, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you’re published
2. pick six sentences
3. post ‘em on Sunday
