So, I'm challenging you, the reader who has never read gay romance or any male/male fiction to give it a try. (And if you're already an M/M reader, stick with me. Stuff here for you too.)The best part? You get to do it for free. And this isn't one of those "it's totally free, but once you read the fine print you'll find out it's totally not, and then you're going to be paying out the nose forever and ever and getting phone calls from telemarketers at 9:00 on Sunday night until the end of time." None of that nonsense. I will include a brief survey with your book, but it will be 100% optional and I will never ever bug you about it. Pinky swear.
You comment, you get a book, and that's it.
Maybe you'll like it. Maybe you won't. Maybe you'll decide it's not your cup of tea, or maybe you will discover a brand new genre. But you'll never know unless you try!So how the heck does this work, anyway?
It's quite simple, really, because simple is all I can handle. I've collected a whole bunch of donations from some of the most amazeballs (and generous) authors in this genre, and all you have to do is pick two of the titles listed below, and leave a comment with your first and second choice (in order of preference!) and your contact information. That's it.Titles are first come, first served. If your first choice is claimed, you'll win your second choice. I will do the best I can to mark books as they're claimed, but I may not be as fast as the comments. If two people claim the same title, whoever's comment posted first gets the book. If both your first and second choice are claimed, don't worry about deleting your comment; just comment with a third choice.
If all the books are already selected, never fear! Just leave a comment with "No Titles Left", and I'll hook you up with a book of your choice off my own backlist (since those are the only books I can legally/ethically give away once I run out of donations).
And just to make things even more fun, everyone who enters is also entered into a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card. Because seriously, who doesn't want a $25 Amazon gift card? But what if I already read gay romance?
You can still enter the drawing for the gift card! All you have to do is refer a friend who's never read the genre. Just make sure they mention you in their comment, and you're all set. Now, obviously there's no litmus test to see if you've really never read something in this genre. Honor system, folks.
The book giveaway ends on February 13th or when I run out of books, whichever comes later. The Amazon gift card will be drawn on February 14th, and entries for that close at midnight Central Time on February 13th.
Okay. Enough yammering from me. Let's get to the fun part...
THE BOOKS
I've tried to get a good variety of word counts, genres, and heat levels. Some books have heavy erotic content, some have very little if any at all. There's contemporary, science fiction, steampunk, historical, and the lengths vary from short stories to doorstop novels.
Clicking on a title will take you to its Goodreads page. Clicking on an author's name will take you to his/her website.
Right. I said enough yammering. Onward!

local hospital, he expected them to be able to talk back when he chatted to
them. But, when he’s assigned to visit a comatose man, he soon finds himself
spilling out his whole life story in an effort to fill the silence. It’s not
long before the peace and comfort he finds in the man’s hospital room becomes
Liam’s refuge from an increasingly hostile world.
Vampire Marcus Corrigan has been trapped inside his
paralyzed body for over three years, unable to communicate with anyone. The
chatty young man who visits Marcus quickly captivates him, and Liam’s softly
spoken words soon have him determined to rescue the boy from his current life,
but, unable to move a muscle, all Marcus can actually do is lay there and
listen.
There’s only one thing that can wake up Marcus. There’s only
one thing that can save Liam’s sanity. Everything is about to change for them
both, and it will change with a kiss.
Fighting Addiction by BA Tortuga (claimed)
Torquere Press, 63,000 words, Contemporary, Erotic
Country hat act Markus Kane is pretty skeptical when one of
his oldest industry friends calls and asks him to do a joint tour. He and Seb
haven’t seen each other in years, not since Markus quit drinking. Maybe not
since he and Sebastian Longchamps almost lost their careers to the fact that
they couldn’t keep their hands off each other.
Sebastian is a country-fried Cajun rocker, and he’s been
missing Markus ever since they broke up all those years ago. His label thinks
he and Markus are a match made in ticket-sales heaven, but Seb knows better. He
knows that it won’t take even the tiniest effort for Markus to break his heart
all over again, and this time around he has way more to lose.
Time has changed both men, though, and while Markus and Seb try to fight their addictions, the big music industry machine has plans for them that don’t include the quiet life. Can Markus convince Sebastian that there are things more important in life than adrenaline and control? And can Sebastian make Markus understand that all he really wants is his music and his man?
Moro's Price by M.C. Hana (claimed)
Loose Id, LLC, 100,000 words, Erotic Fantasy, A lot of erotic content/BDSM
Cheated out of freedom and destined for lifetime servitude,
gladiator and sex slave Moro Dalgleish escapes from a brutal arena. Valier
Antonin, a lonely student, is tormented by sadomasochistic urges he's forbidden
to indulge. When the two men meet on the skyscraper roof where Moro plans to
commit suicide, Valier offers a bargain. Sex with Valier will infect Moro with
the sentient symbiont endemic in Valier's part-human race, with death the
likely result.
As one of the infection's rare survivors, Moro learns he is now a free Camalian citizen. He's also effectively married to Valier, crown prince of the Camalian Commonwealth. Expecting a shallow encounter with a doomed slave, Valier learns Moro is his Knife, the mate who can stabilize Valier's undisciplined mind, slake his darkest lusts, and make him fit to rule.
Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: BDSM theme and elements, dubious consent, male/male sexual practices, rape, violence. While primarily an m/m story, it contains scenes involving m/f sexual interaction.
Readers with a history of rape or sexual abuse may find elements of this story disturbing
Bad Moon Rising by DC Juris (claimed)
Breathless Press, 31,000 words, Zombie Apocalypse, Moderate Erotic Content/Some BDSM
Bryce never expected to find himself smack in the middle of
a zombie apocalypse, and he certainly never expected to meet the man of his
dreams along the way. But there's more than zombies in the way of his happily
ever after. Richard comes with baggage, in the form of his on again, off again
bipolar lover Cole, who is off his meds and descending into his own mental hell
at an alarming rate. Will the three men be able to work out their romantic
feelings? Oh yeah...and then there's that little issue of the zombies...
King Perry by Edmond Manning (claimed)
Dreamspinner Press, 106,800 words, Contemporary, Moderately Erotic
In a trendy San Francisco art gallery, out-of-towner Vin Vanbly witnesses an act of compassion that compels him to make investment banker Perry Mangin a mysterious offer: in exchange for a weekend of complete submission, Vin will restore Perry’s “kingship” and transform him into the man he was always meant to be.
Despite intense reservations, Perry agrees, setting in motion a chain of events that will test the limits of his body, seduce his senses, and fray his every nerve, (perhaps occasionally breaking the law) while Vin guides him toward his destiny as ”the one true king.”
Even as Perry rediscovers old grief and new joys within himself, Vin and his shadowy motivations remain enigmas: who is this offbeat stranger guiding them from danger to hilarity to danger? To emerge triumphant, Perry must overcome the greatest challenge alone: embracing his devastating past. But can he succeed by Sunday’s sunrise deadline? How can he possibly evolve from an ordinary man into King Perry?
A Bittersweet Dreams title: It's an unfortunate truth: love doesn't always conquer all. Regardless of its strength, sometimes fate intervenes, tragedy strikes, or forces conspire against it. These stories of romance do not offer a traditional happy ending, but the strong and enduring love will still touch your heart and maybe move you to tears.
The Christmas Throwaway by R.J. Scott (claimed)
Love Lane Books, 33,000 words, Contemporary, Moderately Erotic
For Zachary Weston Christmas means sleeping on a churchyard bench in the freezing snow with nothing better in his future. Thrown out of his home for being gay, he is left without money or, it seems, anywhere to go.
Until a stranger shows him that some people do give a lot more than a damn.
Ben Hamilton is a rookie cop in his small home town. He finds a young throwaway, fresh from the city, sleeping on a bench in the churchyard on a snowy Christmas Eve. Can he be the one to give Zachary his own Christmas miracle?
WHEW! That was a lot of books. Good luck!

This giveaway sounds intersting. Right now I seem to be burned out on m/f romance, so maybe m/m will awaken my love for the romance genre again. If available, I would like to read THE DRUID STONE or MORO'S PRICE; if they are not available, anything with over 75,000 words--it is silly of me, but I prefer LONG books! Thanking you in advance, I am: dmf01dmf@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI've read quite a few of these books so I'm not eligible for the giveaway but I have tweeted about it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great contest! Just wanted to let you know that you are the one that got me hooked on this genre. When I got my first Kindle in 2011, Amazon had "Nine Tenths of the Law" as a free book. I read it, got hooked and never looked back. Since then I have read over 500 books in this genre and am no where near running out of reading material.
