So what's going on with Wilde's (aka The Distance Between Us)?

On Tuesday, the newest Wilde's story, No Distance Left to Run, will be released. I've had a few questions recently about how this book fits with the others in the series, what's going on with the series, etc., so I wanted to take this opportunity to answer them.

The Wilde's series, which is generally called The Distance Between Us series because it all started with the book by that title that was supposed to be a standalone but then... wasn't. A.J.'s Angel came along after that, and Kieran made a little cameo. And then he got his own story in The Closer You Get. And then recurring side character Dale got his own story in Meet Me in the Middle.  So as you can see, it kind of took on a life of its own.

      

  

Basically, the series has evolved into something not unlike Tucker Springs. They're all set in the same world (specifically in Seattle, with the night club Wilde's featuring heavily), and sometimes characters cross over into each other's stories, but aren't necessarily related outside of the night club. Wilde's actually made its first appearance in the standalone book, The Best Man, and I guess I was kind of attached to the place, so I keep going back to it. (What can I say? They have awesome Kamikazes...)

Which brings us to No Distance Left to Run, the first co-written Wilde's story, having been written with the other half of my brain, Aleksandr Voinov.

This book does have some cameos by previous characters. Liam is still the shift manager. Kieran is still tending bar. But Chris and Julien? They're new characters entirely. No Distance Left to Run is a standalone (though it will have a sequel), it just takes place in the Wilde's universe.

Will there be more? It's hard to say. Like I said, I keep gravitating back to Wilde's, and now that my co-author extraordinaire has joined me there, it's a safe bet that we'll revisit the place together.

Hopefully I didn't just make it even more confusing. LOL  I hope Wilde's fans will enjoy this newest installment and the new set of characters... and stay tuned for news about the sequel!

If you've read The Distance Between Us and The Closer You Get, you might very well remember Dale. And many of you have suggested that Dale needs his own story.  I agree! So here he is.

(Also, if you have NOT read the previous books, this one can be read as a standalone!)

Some long overdue updates.

Wow. I really need to stop slacking on my blogs. I've been saying that for a while, I know. I'm trying, I swear!! :)

So here are some updates and what's coming up over the next few months.

If you're in the UK and will be attending the UK LGBT Fiction Meet-Up, I'll be there along with my lovely partner in crime and co-author, Aleksandr Voinov. After the meet-up, Aleks and I are going to kick around London for a while before jetting off to Germany and Poland for some on-location World War II research.

I'll also be going to Toledo Pride in Ohio on August 24th, and GayRomLit in Atlanta in October. If you're at any of those events, do come say hello!

Now, what about books? Well, there are a few of those coming down the pipe...

For one, I'm now co-authoring with the amazing Cat Grant, and we're wrapping up our first book, a Navy SEAL story called The Only One Who Knows. That one will be available from Samhain Publishing in late 2013/early 2014; keep an eye on this site for updates.

Aleks and I are releasing our fourth Market Garden book, If It Fornicates, which will be available from Riptide Publishing on June 10th. The following week, on the 17th, you can grab my kinky little leather convention romance, Finding Master Right.

Aleks and I also have our first historical, Unhinge the Universe, coming out this summer; details on that one coming very, very soon.  August will be another double-hitter, with Market Garden #5, Capture & Surrender, and The Distance Between Us #3, Meet Me in the Middle. And then in September, both Tooth & Claw #3, The United & The Divided, and Tucker Springs #6, After the Fall, will be released.

Now you can see why I've been so busy these last few months! LOL

What about the future? Well, Aleks and I have a number of books lined up and ready to write as soon as we've both finished some solo projects, and Cat and I are plotting and scheming to join forces again as well. Some other co-authored projects are being bounced around too, but you'll just have to wait for details on those. ;)  And of course, there will be plenty of solo books, too. Lauren Gallagher might even be writing a bit more in the near future.

So for the next month or so, I'm still plowing through a few projects before my workload is a bit more manageable, and then I SWEARZ I'll be updating these things more often!

The move from Japan is coming along swimmingly, if a bit chaotically. Expect updates to be a little sparse and probably not incredibly long, but I'm trying to keep up on both my blogs as much as I can.

A.J.'s...Easter egg?

So A.J.'s Angel has been out for a few days now, and a few people have e-mailed me regarding a character who shows up briefly in the first half of the book: A Wilde's bartender named Kieran.

Question: Is that the same Wilde's bartender who rocked Ethan and Rhett's world in The Distance Between Us?
Answer: Yes, indeed it is.

Question: Speaking of Kieran, is he ever going to get his own story?

Answer: Why yes, he is. Many readers have expressed an interest in seeing our beloved self-described manwhore fall in love. Is it possible? Could there be someone for the love-phobic Kieran?

Perhaps there is...

Brief Update

Apologies for the lack of entries lately! I've been up to my ears in finishing a few projects, not to mention starting a few, and my parents are in town right now. I expect to have some pictures up from our island adventures, probably tomorrow, but for now, I'm calling it a night.

I can finally let this cat out of the bag...

Ask and ye shall receive. Many readers have said they'd like to see a sequel to The Distance Between Us, specifically one in which Kieran gets his own story. The people have spoken, the author has listened, and by popular demand, Kieran is getting his own story.

So, come November, keep an eye out for The Closer You Get from Samhain Publishing, and see if this unabashedly slutty and thoroughly jaded bartender can be persuaded to give monogamy -- maybe even love -- a try.

It's been a day of good news for Ethan, Rhett, and Kieran!

The Distance Between Us was voted Honorable Mention in the Love Romances Cafe category for 2010 Best Erotic Book. Full results are listed here - congratulations to all winners, runners up, and honorable mentions!

Then I found out it was also nominated for 2010 Best Book at LASR/WC. Polls open on February 14, so if you liked the trio of trouble and their dirty shenanigans, vote vote vote!
This is probably also a good time to mention there is more news in the offing involving this book, but as much as I'm itching to, I can't say much publicly right now. Stay tuned!
